Week 1
Day 1:
I don’t remember much about this day but I do remember traveling.
I was brought over to a strange new place with even stranger people who marveled at the sight of me. I mean who wouldn’t marvel at the sight of me, I am magnificent.
The small humans are alright, they talk to me in a baby voice and offer pets whenever I am around. The big humans are a little harder to decipher. Some times they talk to me in a sing-song voice like I am a baby and other times they ignore me. I heard one of them saying that I needed space. Good choice on them.
Day 2:
I’ve been living out of a single room in the back of the house. The older small human lives here with me as well. He’s quiet and doesn’t bother me much. I very much like this human. My litter box is also here. They come to check on it often hoping to steal my poops. For that reason alone I refuse to relieve myself. They will not steal from me!
Maybe I’ll go on the floor…
Day 3:
I met the other cats of this new home. I hissed at them. I was startled!
To be fair, I didn’t even know there were other cats living here. I thought I was the only one. The orange tabby looks at me quizzically and I can tell she wants to approach and sniff my butt. I haven’t let her yet, I’m not sure what her intentions are and I am not willing to risk it.
The Toirtie one is extremely hissy and hateful. I am convinced she is plotting to kill me in my sleep! The humans keep reassuring me that she will warm up to me but I am not convinced. I shall keep an eye on her for she may poison my food. She already eats my leftovers, what other sinful actions may she commit against me!
Day 4:
I really enjoy the company of the humans of this new home. They really do look after me and offer me every comfort I can possibly want. I do miss my previous home but I can tell that they will do absolutely everything to keep me happy, as it should be.
I threw up on the floor today. The humans didn’t seem to mind. They say that it’s because I’ve been eating wet food and my stomach may not be used to the change in water content. I don’t particularly care, I enjoy the wet food, they’ll just have to get used to my vomit.
Day 5:
I have chosen my new sleeping arrangements. The humans bought a cat bed but I wasn’t very into it. I much prefer the bench under the kitchen table. It really does provide a great vantage point in which I can observe everything and everyone. The humans love to call me over for pets and I happily oblige. They have stated to call me little tornado when I lay on the floor and spin around. I think they like it and I am happy to provide the entertainment.
Day 6:
I have decided that I really like this new place. It’s quiet, it’s calm and there is so much room to explore. The humans weren’t even upset when I used their furniture as a scratching post. Apparently that’s quite normal for the cats in this home. They are insane! I love it!
Day 7:
I don’t think I am going to go back to my old home. I hear the humans talking about how happy they are with my presence. They seem to enjoy my company and my fluffiness. I can’t say I am not saddened about this realization but I believe that I will be truly happy in this place. In such a short amount of time, I feel like I belong. Even though I miss my old humans, I am quite content with the new one. I will be truly happy here, I just know it!
